The Lockdown Era

Not long after Sofia could call Denver, CO home, we all were quickly met with the beginning of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Emotions were high, and she hadn’t had the opportunity to meet many people to lean on. 

This is when she sketched quite a bit to bring different faces into her life to help support others, all while her health made it risky to stand up for what she believes in. Eventually, painting became a way Sofia could connect with others by asking about songs she had not heard, quickly sketching out the feeling the sounds gave during a first listen, and providing a painting of that. 

Overall, this era is a mix of many different styles and feelings that came up during this difficult time for so many, but what it taught this artist is how precious connection and spending time with other people, shapes and colors can be.
